Applying LIAR To An Advert

Language: The advert uses animation and drawings to give a light hearted effect to all of the viewers so that it can reach a wider audience. There are stop motion / animated animals such as hedgehogs and pigeons used throughout the video which once again as stated adds a certain feel to the advert which is universally seen as wholesome and may be more likely to make customers come to John Lewis. The advert is set in a snowy British town making it relatable to viewers, the clothing worn are very standard and are not low nor are they upper class. All of the characters seem to be happy as Christmas is on the horizon and they have lots of things to look forward to, which in turn will influence the viewers to go to John Lewis.
